Your Priorities

Acts 4: 8

8.  Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,

 9.  If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole;

 10.  Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.

 11.  This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.

 12.  Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

It is possible to keep a church going apart from the Holy Spirit, with ordinary common sense. You can get a good crowd by good organization and careful planned methods; you may even pack the church to capacity.

I would say that you could even have a crowded evangelistic meeting!

You may have enough money to carry on the work! It needs no divine Anointing on the part of the minister, evangelist, or church member to achieve these objectives by themselves.

In fact you only have to go into many of today’s churches to discover that they are little more than social clubs with a Sunday service added.

I heard about a church bulletin board advertising coming events. On one side there was a notice “ Be sure to come to the autumn bridge party and dance.” On the other side- it’s not to early to join our Christmas club and Bazaar.” And right in the middle was the topic of the Sunday sermon- The Lost Radiance.

It would take more than a few monuments thought to suggest respectively where the radiance had been lost.

Most people would say, “ My church is not like that”.

Spiritual Warfare

Eph 6 11-19

The Breast Plate.

The power of Righteousness

Ephesians 6

11.  Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

 12.  For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world-rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

 13.  Wherefore take up the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having done all, to stand.

 14.  Stand therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,

Protects the heart

Proverbs 4

23.    Keep thy heart with all diligence; For out of it are the issues of life.

Pauls adds that the breast plate of righteousness is the breast plate of faith.

1 Thessalonians 5

8.  But let us, since we are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for a helmet, the hope of salvation.

It is not works or religion but faith in Jesus Christ and His work on the cross that gives to us righteousness.

For it is by His blood that we are made perfect.

No righteousness of our own can with stand the enemy.

The Power of continuous prayer

No Good thing withheld.

PS. 84: 11

11.    For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

A prayer less Christian is a powerless Christian.

When Man Can’t Help God always can.

1Chor: 10:13

13    There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Prayerlessness is sin

1Samuel 12: 23

23.    Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the Lord in ceasing to pray for you:

We Are Commanded to Pray.

Matt 6

6.  But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

 7.  But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

 8.  Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

 9.  After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

 10.  Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

 11.  Give us this day our daily bread.

 12.  And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

 13.  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

 14.  For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

15.    But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Pray with out ceasing

1 Thess. 5: 17

17.  Pray without ceasing.

18.    In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Anointed Prayer Rises Above

When Paul was in prison He did not ask the church pray for me because I am in jail.

Or that they have whipped me with a cat of nine tails and the blood is running down my back to the floor in puddles.

He did not ask them to pray for his rheumatism that was caused by the stones that broke his bones when he was stoned and left for dead.

Deliver us from the Evil One

Satan Is Real

Zechariah 3

1.  And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him.

 2.  And the Lord said unto Satan, The Lord rebuke thee, O Satan; even the Lord that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?

The Bible is absolutely clear that there is a very real devil who presides over an organized, unified kingdom. Satan is no humorous myth. The one that slithered into the Garden of Eden and tempted Adam and Eve (GEN 3) was the same one who tempted Jesus Christ in the wilderness. (Matt 4). It is satan and his angels that were cast out of heaven and deceive the whole world (Rev 12; 9) He is a liar and the father of all lies (John 8:44) and he is the accuser of the brethren ( REV 12:10)

He can transform himself into an angel of light. (2 COR 11:14). If you hear someone say that they have received a new revelation judge it by the truth of the word of God. If you follow that revelation when the Bible clearly states it’s the wrong way you will fall into deception. There is but one true light and that is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ “ The light of the world. (John 8:12). (1 Peter 5:8) states that the devil is a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. And that includes you.

The apostle Paul tells us that Satan is the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that works in the sons of disobedience. (EPH 2: 2). Behind every temptation there is a tempter. Behind every lie there is the father of lies. Behind every murder there is Satan who was a murder from the beginning. (John 8: 44)

Jesus taught us to pray “deliver us from the evil one.” (Matt 6: 13)

God has the power and Authority to set you free from the powers of principalities and darkness. Jesus said “therefore if the Son makes you free you shall be free indeed”. (John 8:36). Satan was utterly defeated by Christ at Calvary and through His resurrection. When Satan reminds you of your past remind him of his future. (Rev 20:10).

God Will Appear PDF Print E-mail

God Will Appear

God showed up for the Three Hebrew Children

Nebuchadnezzar spoke, saying, "Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, who sent His angel and delivered His servants who trusted in Him."
Daniel 3:28

Daniel 3

15.  Now if ye be ready that at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the image which I have made; well: but if ye worship not, ye shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who is that God that shall deliver you out of my hands?

 16.  Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter.

 17.  If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.

 18.  But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.

19.  Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury, and the form of his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: therefore he spake, and commanded that they should heat the furnace one seven times more than it was wont to be heated.

 20.  And he commanded the most mighty men that were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace.

 21.  Then these men were bound in their coats, their hosen, and their hats, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.

 22.  Therefore because the king's commandment was urgent, and the furnace exceeding hot, the flame of the fire slew those men that took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.

 23.  And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.

 24.  Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonied, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellers, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king.

 25.  He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.

 26.  Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spake, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, ye servants of the most high God, come forth, and come hither. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, came forth of the midst of the fire.

 27.  And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king's counsellers, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.

 28.  Then Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king's word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.

 29.  Therefore I make a decree, That every people, nation, and language, which speak any thing amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill: because there is no other God that can deliver after this sort.

 30.  Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, in the province of Babylon.

God showed up for Peter

Acts 12

1.  Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church.

 2.  And he killed James the brother of John with the sword.

 3.  And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.)

 4.  And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people.

 5.  Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.

 6.  And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison.

 7.  And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.

 8.  And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me.

 9.  And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision.

 10.  When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him.

 11.  And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.

How would you have felt if you had been Peter? King Herod began a persecution of the church in Jerusalem, highlighting it with the murder of the apostle James, the brother of John. When he saw that this pleased the Jewish leaders, he seized Peter also and put him in jail. If you had been Peter, wouldn't you have thought that Herod planned to murder you as well? How alone would you have felt?

Bible Gateway Verse of the Day

Thought of the day

Sometimes I wonder just how things are going to work out. Then I remember just who holds the future in His hands, and I have to remind myself that even when the mountains wont move I need to trust God more for God is always there in my situation. If He does not bring me out He will see me through, If the mountain does ...not move He will bare me over it on the wings of eagles. Isa. 40: 31
